Der Shimano 105 FD-R7100 Umwerfer bietet blitzschnelle, leichtgängige und hochpräzise mechanische Schaltvorgänge am vorderen Kettenblatt für moderne 2x12-fach Rennrad-Antriebe. Seine optimierte Hebelgeometrie reduziert den erforderlichen Bedienkraftaufwand am Schalthebel spürbar und ermöglicht ein extrem feinfühliges Trimmen zur Vermeidung von Kettenschleifen in extremen Gangkombinationen.
Ausgelegt für die direkte Anlötbefestigung (Braze-on) und klassische Down-Pull Zugansteuerung von unten, ist der Umwerfer für eine Kettenstreben-Winkelspanne von 61–66° konstruiert. Mit einer Gesamtkapazität von 16 Zähnen schaltet er mühelos Kettenblattkombinationen mit einem großen Blatt von 50 bis 54 Zähnen (z. B. 50/34Z oder 52/36Z) bei einer Kettenlinie von 44,5 mm.
