The Shimano SM-MA-R160D/D is the original quality adapter for all road bike, cyclocross, and gravel riders who demand maximum deceleration from the rear of their bike. This precision-engineered adapter was specially developed for the rear wheel (RW) and is used to mount a flat mount brake caliper on frames with a 140 mm direct mount flat mount. It allows you to easily upgrade to a larger **160 mm brake rotor**. By switching to the 160 mm rotor at the rear, you immediately benefit from noticeably more braking power, finer modulation, and optimal fade resistance on long descents.
