SHIMANO DEORE XT SM-RT86 – MAXIMUM FADE RESISTANCE THANKS TO ICE-TECH TECHNOLOGY
The Shimano SM-RT86 is the ideal brake rotor for riders who don't want to compromise on braking performance, even on long, steep descents. Manufactured to Deore XT standards, it utilizes groundbreaking ICE TECHNOLOGIES cooling power. The three-layer sandwich construction – an aluminum core between two stainless steel layers – dissipates heat significantly more effectively than conventional steel rotors. The result is a reduction in operating temperature of around 100 °C, which prevents fading and noticeably extends the life of the brake pads.
The two-piece construction with a rigid aluminum spider also ensures excellent torsional rigidity at a moderate weight. Thanks to the 6-bolt mounting, the rotor is compatible with a variety of hubs. The dirt-repellent design of the friction surface also guarantees consistent performance and cleanliness in the system – regardless of whether it's wet or dusty.
