Die Shimano XTR RT-MT900 Centerlock-Bremsscheibe ist die Speerspitze der Bremstechnologie für ambitionierte Mountainbiker. Als konsequente Weiterentwicklung des erfolgreichen Ice-Technologies Freeza Designs setzt diese 180-mm-Ausführung neue Maßstäbe beim Hitzemanagement im harten Cross-Country-, Trail- und Enduro-Einsatz. In intensiven Tests konnte die Wärmeableitung bei der 180-mm-Variante um beachtliche 20 °C weiter verbessert werden, während das Gewicht gleichzeitig auf ein Minimum reduziert wurde.

Das Geheimnis dieser herausragenden Performance liegt in der hochentwickelten Sandwich-Bauweise: Ein Aluminium-Kern wird von zwei Edelstahlschichten umschlossen. Die nach innen verlängerten Kühlrippen aus Aluminium leiten die entstehende Reibungshitze extrem schnell ab. Das verhindert das gefürchtete Bremsfading (Nachlassen der Bremskraft) effektiv. Das Ergebnis ist eine erstklassige, extrem konstante und jederzeit berechenbare Bremsleistung selbst auf langen, steilen Abfahrten und unter härtesten Bedingungen. Die Montage erfolgt sauber und spielfrei über das Centerlock-System (Ausführung mit Innenverzahnung).
